New Renault Bridger SUV Concept Model Revealed

RENAULT BRIDGER

Renault may have only recently pulled the covers off its new subcompact SUV concept, but the company has already made clear that a production version is on the way. Encouragingly, the showroom model is expected to stay very close to the concept’s striking design.

The crossover will be built in India before being exported to a range of global markets, highlighting Renault’s broader international ambitions for the new model.

The reveal came during Renault Group’s broader futuREady strategy presentation, where the automaker offered an early look at several upcoming products. While other vehicles — including Renault’s next European model and a future release from Romanian sister brand Dacia — deserve attention of their own, the spotlight here falls on the new Renault Bridger, a compact SUV tailored mainly for emerging markets.

The concept is expected to transition into a production model next year, with the final vehicle likely to retain much of the show car’s design. There is also a possibility that the production version will continue to use the Renault Bridger name.

India will become the first market for the SUV, where it will be positioned between the Renault Kiger and the next-generation Renault Duster within Renault’s lineup. Vehicles manufactured in India will subsequently be exported to markets including Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

EXTERIOR

Built on the RGMP small platform — Renault’s renamed version of the CMF-B architecture — the Renault Bridger embraces a tough, adventure-ready personality. Its styling combines a boxy silhouette with chunky bumpers, bold wheel-arch cladding, and an externally mounted spare wheel on the tailgate, reinforcing its off-road-inspired character.

Distinctive angled LED daytime running lights shape the front-end identity, with matching taillight graphics carrying the theme to the rear. In a notable design twist, the traditional Renault badge is replaced by prominent “Renault” lettering across the grille. The concept is completed by a set of 18-inch wheels.

Keeping practicality and market positioning in mind, the Renault Bridger maintains an overall length of under four meters — a crucial threshold for securing tax advantages in India. Beyond that, Renault has yet to reveal the SUV’s full dimensional details.
