BYD Unveils Seal 08 Flagship Sedan with Advanced Technologies
BYD has pulled the covers off its newest flagship sedan, the BYD Seal 08, during the debut of Blade Battery 2.0 technology in China. As the brand’s new range-topping four-door model, the Seal 08 serves as a showcase for BYD’s latest engineering advances.
Among the headline features are megawatt supercharging capability, second-generation Blade battery technology, rear-wheel steering, and the sophisticated DiSus-A intelligent body control system.
EXTERIOR
Stylistically, the BYD Seal 08 draws heavily from the dramatic Ocean-S concept car, giving the flagship sedan a sleek, high-tech appearance. Up front, a closed grille is combined with slim LED daytime running lights and wave-inspired detailing, while distinctive “starlight” headlights are cleverly integrated into the bumper’s air intakes.
A roof-mounted LiDAR unit further emphasizes the model’s technological focus, supporting its advanced safety and driver-assistance systems.
The rear design continues the sporty theme with a flowing fastback profile, ocean-inspired sculpting, and stylish taillights. Completing the look are multi-spoke 19-inch wheels wrapped in 245/45 R19 tires, adding to the sedan’s upscale and athletic presence.
DIMENSION
In terms of dimensions, the BYD Seal 08 measures 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. These proportions point to a spacious and comfortable interior environment, although BYD has yet to disclose details regarding the cabin design.
POWERTRAIN
The BYD Seal 08 is built on an 800-volt high-voltage architecture and utilizes BYD’s second-generation Blade battery technology. This configuration is expected to provide an electric driving range exceeding 1,000 km.
The sedan also supports Flash Charging technology, allowing it to recover approximately 400 km of driving range in just five minutes of charging.
Performance is expected to be a major selling point for the AWD version of the BYD Seal 08, which is projected to generate more than 480 kW — roughly 644 horsepower. That level of output should allow the large sedan to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under five seconds, placing it firmly in high-performance territory.
But the Seal 08 is about more than straight-line speed. Advanced hardware such as rear-wheel steering enhances agility, while the DiSus-A intelligent body control system is designed to deliver a smoother and more stable driving experience. The model is further equipped with BYD’s God’s Eye B (DiPilot 300) driver-assistance and safety technology.
BYD has confirmed that the BYD Seal 08 is scheduled to enter the Chinese market during the second quarter of this year.
Previously, in December 2025, the company unveiled its “Ocean 8 Series Dual Flagship” lineup, consisting of the Seal 08 and the BYD Sealion 08. Following the introduction of the Seal 08, the Sealion 08 is also expected to make its debut in the near future.
