Toyota has officially launched the new-generation Hilux pickup truck in Vietnam. As previously announced, the model is imported directly from Thailand and is offered in three variants: Standard 2.8 4x2 MT, Pro 2.8 4x2 AT, and Trailhunter 2.8 4x4 AT. These versions are priced at VND 632 million, VND 706 million, and VND 903 million, respectively. Compared with the outgoing model, the 2026 Toyota Hilux is now positioned with more competitive pricing.

The 2026 Hilux continues to be built on Toyota’s Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform. The pickup measures 5,320 mm in length, 1,855–1,885 mm in width, and 1,815 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,085 mm. It offers 225 mm of ground clearance and a minimum turning radius of 6.3 meters.

In terms of design, the 2026 Toyota Hilux has been comprehensively redesigned. The front fascia is highlighted by a large, body-colored rectangular grille, flanked by slim LED headlights integrated with LED daytime running lights. The front bumper features glossy black faux triangular air intakes, while automatic transmission variants are additionally equipped with LED fog lights positioned on either side of a faux silver skid plate.

At the rear, the Hilux features inverted taillights with distinctive C-shaped LED signatures, along with a tailgate that incorporates an integrated spoiler. Side steps are also mounted on both sides of the rear bumper, a design element reminiscent of competitors such as the Ford Ranger.

The interior has also received notable updates. The cabin now features a redesigned dashboard and door panels. Lower trim levels come with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch central touchscreen, while higher trims are equipped with a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 12.3-inch infotainment display.

Additionally, the 2026 Hilux is fitted with a new steering wheel similar to that of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Seating is upholstered in Caretex or SofTex materials, depending on the variant, and an electronic parking brake is now included.

POWERTRAIN

Under the hood, the 2026 Toyota Hilux retains its existing powertrain. The pickup continues to use the 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 204 horsepower. Maximum torque output is rated at 410 Nm when paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, or 500 Nm with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Depending on the variant, the Hilux is available in either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations. The 4WD versions now come standard with a rear differential lock and Toyota’s Multi-Terrain System (MTS), offering selectable driving modes for Dirt, Sand, Mud, Rock, and Snow.

On the safety front, the 2026 Hilux benefits from a significantly upgraded package. It now includes a 360-degree camera system with an underbody viewing mode, along with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This advanced suite of active safety technologies features systems such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.

With these comprehensive updates, the new-generation Toyota Hilux is expected to strengthen its competitiveness in the midsize pickup segment, going head-to-head with rivals like the Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi Triton.
