At the ongoing Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026, Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing officially unveiled the refreshed Yamaha Aerox Alpha sports scooter. The latest update centers on sharper styling, a broader range of variants, and enhanced technology, clearly aimed at younger riders across Southeast Asia.
Six Variants with Distinct Identities
For 2026, the Aerox Alpha is available in six variants: Standard, Cybercity, Cybercity ABS, Turbo, Turbo Ultimate, and Turbo 70th Livery.
Each version features its own color schemes and graphic packages, including 70th Livery, Elixir Dark Silver, Matte Purple Black, White Pearl Blue, Matte Blue Red, Black, Red, and Blue. This expanded palette emphasizes personalization while preserving the aggressive, sporty character that defines the Aerox lineup.
Proven Chassis and Urban-Friendly Dimensions
Structurally, the scooter retains its underbone frame paired with 30 mm telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. It measures 1,980 mm in length, 710 mm in width, and 1,170 mm in height, with a 1,350 mm wheelbase.
Ground clearance stands at 145 mm, while the 790 mm seat height ensures practicality and comfort for everyday urban use.
The Aerox Alpha 2026 rides on 14-inch wheels fitted with tubeless tires — 110/80 at the front and 140/70 at the rear. Disc brakes are installed at both ends, with ABS available on selected variants. This setup places it in direct competition with popular sporty scooters such as the Honda Vario and Honda Air Blade.
Upgraded 155 cc Engine with YECVT
The most significant update lies in the powertrain. The scooter is powered by Yamaha’s latest 155 cc VVA Blue Core engine, now integrated with Yamaha Electric CVT (YECVT) technology.
The engine delivers 11.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, promising stronger mid-range acceleration and improved responsiveness.
Complementing this setup is a 3-level Y-Shift feature, enabling riders to adjust acceleration and deceleration response based on road conditions. Additionally, S-Mode and T-Mode riding modes help optimize performance for city commuting or longer-distance travel.
Advanced Technology and Connectivity
One of the standout features in this segment is the fully digital TFT instrument panel. The display supports Y-Connect smartphone integration, offering ride data, navigation assistance, music control, and call/message notifications.
Through CCU 2.0 connectivity, users can also access trip history, locate nearby fuel stations, and track the vehicle’s position.
Practical features include a USB charging port, smart key system, automatic start/stop system, and a spacious 24.5-liter luggage compartment — all tailored to daily convenience.
Turbo Variants: Added Performance and Style
Higher-spec variants such as the Turbo and Turbo Ultimate receive additional upgrades. These include a Performance Damper for improved high-speed stability, sportier exhaust tips, and a redesigned windscreen to enhance aerodynamics and visual appeal.
Pricing and Market Position
In Indonesia, the Aerox Alpha 2026 is priced between 29.9 million and 41.73 million Rupiah, depending on the variant.
Its debut at IIMS 2026 underscores Yamaha’s continued strategy of strengthening its presence in the competitive high-performance scooter segment across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
