Skoda is pushing ahead with its EV expansion plans, and the upcoming Skoda Epiq is edging closer to reality. Recently spotted testing with only light camouflage, the prototype offers one of the clearest looks yet at the compact electric SUV before its expected global debut in 2026.

Spotted testing in snowy conditions, the Skoda Epiq prototype provided one of the clearest views yet of the compact EV’s proportions and stance. The model is expected to become a key entry point in Skoda’s growing electric SUV family, sitting beneath the larger Skoda Enyaq and Skoda Elroq.

Designed mainly for urban buyers, the Epiq aims to combine practicality, affordability, and everyday usability in a compact electric package

POWERTRAIN

Skoda plans to offer the Skoda Epiq in three front-wheel-drive variants, giving buyers a choice between efficiency-focused and more performance-oriented setups.

The entry-level Epiq 35 delivers 114 hp and 267 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in about 11 seconds, while the Epiq 40 raises output to 133 hp and cuts the sprint time to 9.8 seconds. Both versions share a 38.5 kWh battery pack capable of providing roughly 315 km of driving range.

For buyers seeking stronger performance, the flagship Epiq 50 produces 208 hp and 290 Nm of torque, enabling a much quicker 0–100 km/h run of 7.4 seconds. Its larger 55 kWh battery also boosts maximum range to an estimated 430 km per charge.

Skoda has also focused on improving charging performance across the Skoda Epiq lineup. The flagship Epiq 50 supports fast charging at up to 133 kW, allowing a 10–80% recharge in roughly 23 minutes, while the Epiq 40 completes the same process in around 28 minutes.

The more affordable Epiq 35 comes with a lower 50 kW charging capability, reflecting its entry-level positioning.

DIMENSION

The Skoda Epiq is built on the Volkswagen Group MEB+ platform and uses a front-mounted electric motor layout designed to maximize cabin space and cargo capacity.

The SUV measures 4,171 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width, and 1,581 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,601 mm. This makes it slightly smaller than the Skoda Kushaq currently sold in selected markets.
