Toyota has officially introduced the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid in the Australian market, expanding the availability of its flagship electrified SUV following launches in the Middle East and selected Eastern European markets. This is the most powerful and most expensive Land Cruiser ever produced, although it remains notably more affordable than its sibling, the Lexus LX700h.
Australian buyers can choose the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid in two distinct flavours. The GR Sport stays true to its off-road roots with the tough styling package already familiar to Land Cruiser fans. On the other hand, the Sahara ZX leans more toward luxury, sporting a bespoke front bumper and revised air intakes for a more upscale appearance.
Beyond their visual distinctions, both variants of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid are powered by Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid system. This advanced powertrain combines a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine—shared with the Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX700h—with a single electric motor, delivering a combined output of 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque. Compared with the conventional 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel-powered Land Cruiser, the hybrid variant offers an increase of 153 hp and 90 Nm.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid pairs its self-charging hybrid setup with a smooth 10-speed automatic gearbox, while Toyota’s trusted all-wheel-drive system remains standard. The off-road-focused GR Sport takes things further with an enhanced suspension package and an electronic limited-slip differential for improved capability on rough terrain.
Beyond its hybrid powertrain, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid also receives exclusive features such as electric power steering and an upgraded 1,500W rear power outlet. However, unlike some other Land Cruiser variants, it is available only in a two-row, five-seat configuration rather than a three-row, seven-seat layout.
