NISSAN kicks 2026
The truly new, second-generation Nissan Kicks crossover was unveiled in 2024, with the United States serving as its debut market. The five-door model later reached Latin America last year. More recently, at the Bangkok International Motor Show, Nissan introduced another Kicks, also described as “all-new.” In reality, however, this version is a restyled iteration of the previous model. A similarly styled crossover is already available in Latin America, where it is sold separately under the Kicks Play name.EXTERIOR
The Thailand-spec model’s exterior is almost identical to the Kicks Play, differing mainly in its rear badging. Compared to the earlier Kicks sold locally, the updated version features redesigned bumpers and grille, along with new split-level headlights and revised taillights. Its overall length has increased slightly to 4,300 mm, up from 4,290 mm, while the wheelbase has been extended from 2,615 mm to 2,620 mm.
INTERIOR
Inside, the Thai-spec Nissan Kicks gets a refreshed dashboard design, now featuring rectangular side air vents instead of the circular ones seen in the Kicks Play. Although the Latin American version also received updated central vents, the Thai model retains the previous design. The infotainment screen is now mounted on top of the dashboard rather than integrated into it. Entry-level variants come with a 9-inch display, while higher trims feature a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen.
Even the base model is well-equipped, offering a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, a rearview camera, six airbags, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. Mid-range versions add wireless smartphone charging, a 360-degree camera system, and lane-keeping assist. The top-spec variant further includes a digital rearview mirror and reverse automatic emergency braking.
POWERTRAIN
In Thailand, the Nissan Kicks continues to be offered exclusively with the brand’s e-Power hybrid system. This setup remains unchanged from the updated version of the previous model. It consists of a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing 82 hp, which functions solely as a generator and is not connected to the wheels. Drive is handled by a 136 hp electric motor powering the front wheels. Notably, the second-generation Kicks available in other markets continues to use conventional powertrains, and the Kicks Play also lacks a hybrid option.
Production of the Kicks remains localized in Thailand, with orders already open. Pricing ranges from 839,000 to 929,000 baht.
