New Nissan NX8 Electric SUV Has Entered Production

Dongfeng Nissan’s all-new Nissan NX8 suv , has officially rolled off the production line at the company’s Huadu plant. Built on the new Tianyan architecture, the model adopts an 800V high-voltage platform and CATL’s 5C ultra-fast charging technology. The Nissan NX8 is expected to make its market debut between March and April.

EXTERIOR 

In terms of design, the Nissan NX8 incorporates Nissan’s latest evolution of the V-motion design language. The front features a star-ring headlight system, a closed grille, and an illuminated Nissan logo, creating a strong sense of modern technology. At the rear, the vehicle is equipped with “quantum light curtain” taillights made up of 2,064 OLED units, which support customizable lighting effects and enhance visual appeal. Dimension-wise, the NX8 measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,917 mm.

INTERIOR

Inside, the NX8 adopts a wraparound cockpit layout. It comes with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a dual-screen floating central display setup, reinforcing its high-tech positioning. Additional features include wireless smartphone charging and a head-up display (HUD). For intelligent driving assistance, the NX8 is equipped with LiDAR and supports advanced functions such as Highway Navigation Assist , Urban Navigation Assist , and full-scenario intelligent parking, delivering a more precise and safer driving experience.

POWERTRAIN

In terms of powertrain options, the Nissan NX8 will be available in both pure electric and range-extended versions. The pure electric variant offers two motor outputs—215 kW and 250 kW—paired with either a 73 kWh or 81 kWh battery pack. These configurations provide driving ranges of 580/565 km and 650/630 km respectively. The range-extended version uses a 1.5T engine as a generator, producing a maximum output of 109 kW, while the drive motor delivers a peak power of 195 kW. Battery options include 20.3 kWh, 21.1 kWh, and 37.4 kWh packs, enabling pure electric ranges of 102 km and 185 km.

Notably, the Nissan NX8 is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture and uses CATL’s latest lithium iron phosphate batteries, making it the first overseas-brand new-energy SUV to support 800V 5C ultra-fast charging. The battery system is independently developed, packaged, and manufactured in accordance with Nissan’s global standards, offering reliable performance across a full temperature range from -30°C to 60°C.
